SUMMER DAYCARE
There will
be three age groups this summer: Ages 3 -5 half days or full days,
Ages 6 -8 full days, Ages 9 - 12 - full days. See the information
sheet on the preschool sign - in table for prices, activities, what to
bring, etc.
GREAT PLAINS LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL
Forty -three delegates attended the May 3 meeting at Great Plains.
Because of the blizzard three of St. Paul's delegates were unable to
attend. Mr. Quinten Sulzle left early and was able to represent
us. Five new board members were elected for 3 year - terms. Rev.
Bruce Muller was elected chairman.
In May and June there is a matching gift of $25,000 in honor of the
graduates. GPLHS will qualify when it has gathered
$75,000.
The Endowment fund currently had $199,318 invested for Student Assistance.
A favorable ruling in Pierre has granted a waiver from certain accreditation
rules. This is a blessing to Great Plains and our WELS day schools in
SD.
GPL focuses on providing Christian education with excellence in
academics. Our math students recently "blew away" the
competition with a score more than double the second place school.
They won a recent Quiz Bowl at GPLHS. The overall GPA for mid-quarter
is 3.284.
Next year all sophomores are required to take Physical Education.
The current enrollment is 113. Eighteen freshmen applications have
been received; 22 seniors are graduating.

SUMMER
SUNDAY SCHOOL:
The Summer Sunday School Program meets
at 9:15. The 5th - 8th graders will join the adults for
adult Bible study. The class breakdown will be: 3
& 4 years olds, Kindergarten and 1st grade, 2nd - 4th
grades.
During the summer we will focus on one lesson per week and use the Christ
Light material as in past summers/ Lord -willing you'll be able to
continue to send your children to hear the message of salvation in Sunday
School this summer.

During the
summer months, the 3 & 4 year olds meet in the school library
downstairs, grades K&1 meet in Mrs. Hammerquist’s room, and grades 2-4
meet in Mrs. Burow’s room. The
children in grades 5 and up are to attend one of the Adult Bible Studies.
