CRY ROOM

If your child becomes fussy during the service you may go to the church library (just across the entryway) where the worship service can be viewed on closed circuit TV.   This is a toy-free room.  Please don’t let your child play with the greeting cards in the Library. Changing tables are available in the restrooms down the hallway.

VISITORS

Thank you for visiting with us today.  If you would like to learn more about our church and Synod, please take a packet from one of the holders located above the guest book in the entryway.

MEMBER NEWS

Marilyn Johnson’s sister remain in hospice care.

Elizabeth Wittenmyer’s grandson has been released from the hospital.

BIBLE STUDY - Bible Translation

The publishers of the New International Version of the Bible, which we use at St. Paul’s, have made a major revision to this version called NIV 2011.  The older version will no longer be published.  Our Synod will be voting this summer on what translation to use for all Synod publications.

On the four Sundays of February we will be holding a study on how translation of God’s Word takes place, and what the change means for us.  Please join us between services in the fellowship hall.

MEMBER PROFILES

St. Paul’s is implementing a new software called Shepherd’s Staff.  This program will help us to better track member information and changes.  It will also enable us to better know and use the gifts and abilities of our members.  You will find a Member Profile form in your church mailbox.  Please fill out the form as completely as possible and return it in the box in the entryway or to the secretary by February 19th.  Thank you!

FEBRUARY FREEWILL OFFERING

In the month of February we will be receiving a free will offering for our Benevolent Aid Fund.  This fund is used to help members who are struggling financially.  You may place your gift in the box on the table in the back of church.  Two special “Freewill Offering” envelopes are provided in your offering box.  However they were inadvertently placed in with the March envelopes.

CALL RECEIVED

Miss Deno has received a divine call to be the preschool director at St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran in Jackson, MI.  Please keep Miss Deno in your prayers as she considers this call.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION SUNDAY

Next Sunday is Christian Education Sunday. We will share the importance of a lifetime of study of God’s Word, and we will review the different opportunities that our church and school offer for such study.   The sermon will be based on Proverbs 22:6.  The children in grades K-8 at St. Paul’s will sing.

After the first service, from 9:00 to 9:30, the school will hold an Open House.  You are invited to walk through the halls and visit the classrooms.  The teachers would like to share with you the exciting work of sharing God’s Word on a daily basis.
